Building my Bucket List

For years I have been planning out things I would like to do one day. Most of them are silly things like sitting in first class on a British Airways flight. Last year, my family took our second spring break trip to the Grand Canyon. I cannot put into words how magical that place is. It truly will take your breathe away. I HIGHLY recommend taking a trip there ASAP if you've never been, but you must go before the heat of summer sets in! Anyway, on both trips we hiked a few hundred yards down the Bright Angel Trail (leads into the canyon), but it was always a bit icy and we were not prepared to hike all the way down. After our last trip, a year ago, my mother and I agreed that the next time we go, we will hike the the canyon "rim to rim". This hike is the hike of all hikes. Typically, you hike uphill first and then back down, in the Canyon, you go down then have to make your way back up. It's intense. They recommend camping overnight because it will be HARD to do it all in one day. I hope to spend the next 2-3 years preparing myself, going on small hikes and getting into shape. Then I presume there will be a very large trip to REI to get supplies.

After all that training I WILL hike rim-to-rim.

Ps. It's been 2 weeks and still no brownies!
